Libertarian science fiction writer Brad Linaweaver has died from cancer; he would have been 67 on Sunday. He was a two-time winner of the Prometheus Award and was known for Moon of Ice, his brilliant alternate-history novel expanded from a Nebula Award-nominated short story.
Mike Glyer has an obituary posted at File 770.
I am so saddened by learning of Brad’s death. I met Brad in the late 1990s during and after the publishing of my book about the Lost in Space TV series and Screenwriter/Director Ib Melchior. Brad was a wonderful talent; wrote a beautiful write-up of my book and totally supported my book. We met at several dinner engagements and sci-fi conventions. May he rest in peace. – Ed Shifres
