10 Novels Nominated for Prometheus Award

Eleven Nominated for Hall of Fame

Preliminary Voting Deadline June 15th

Libertarian Futurist Society members have nominated ten novels published in 1987 and eleven novels that are at least five years old for the 1988 Prometheus and Hall of Fame Awards. Works by Nancy Kress, Thomas R. McDonough, Toni Morrison, M. Elayn Harvey, Melinda Snodgrass, Thomas T. Thomas, Julian May, Victor Koman, David Brin, and Gordon R. Dickson have been selected. A complete list of the nominees, which include both mainstream fiction and SF, can be found in this issue.

Again this year, LFS members will choose five finalists for both awards. The deadline for both categories is June 15th, and the ballot inside this issue should be returned by that date.

Members should be reminded that only Advisory members may vote for the Prometheus Award, while all members may vote for the Hall of Fame. For those who have not renewed their memberships, or who are not yet members of LFS would like to joine, please include your check with your ballot.

The Awards will be presented at the 1988 Worlcon in New Orleans (Nolacon) which will run from September 1st to 5th. Victoria Varga will be arranging the Awards presentation.
