Prometheus Award-winning authors and LFS leaders to gather, speak May 8-10, 2015 at Marcon in Columbus, Ohio

Prometheus Hall of Fame, Lifetime achievement awards to be presented May 9 at Marcon

Multiple Prometheus Award winners F. Paul Wilson, and Vernor Vinge will be guests of honor at Marcon, Ohio's oldest and largest science fiction and fantasy convention. LFS members Steve Gaalema, Tom Jackson, Joe Martino and other LFS leaders also will be panelists and speak at Marcon, to be held May 8-10, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency and Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Of more than 100 panel discussions planned for Marcon’s multi-track program, some of the panel discussions of greatest LFS interest will be “Dystopias and Other Disasters,” “Freedom in an SF Future,” “Free Enterprise in Space: Emerging Realities and Further Possibilities,” and “Meet the Prometheus Award winners: Q&A with Wilson, and Vinge,” scheduled for 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. Friday May 8 as a central part of Marcon’s big opening-night welcome and guests-of-honor events.

The LFS also will present its annual Prometheus Awards for Best Classic Fiction and a special Prometheus Award for Lifetime Achievement to Wilson May 9 before an expected audience of about 1,000 people during the masquerade contest, Marcon’s largest and most popular annual event.

Marcon invited the LFS back to participate in its 50th anniversary in 2015 after the success of the first LFS gathering with multiple Prometheus winners at Marcon in 2001 – which doubled as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the LFS.
